When Should I Start Bathing My Kitten? & When Should You Avoid Bathing Your Kitten?
Today's blog post is all about bathing cats/kittens. I'll answer common questions owners have and inform you about some precautions you need to be aware of!
The first common question is when should you start bathing a kitten? I recommend it when they reach about 2 months of age. Some people don't know how to clean a kitten, so their kittens become ill. A kitten being sick is very risky, so it's best to bathe your kitten when it is about 50 days old.
Another common question is when should you avoid bathing a kitten? First and foremost, if your cat is pregnant, then avoid washing her. This is because cats hate water, so bathing a pregnant cat could affect her pregnancy. Additionally, don't bathe your cat after she has given birth. Now, her kittens need her, so don't make this mistake! If you clean her, she will become lazy and fall ill. Don't take the risk. You can bathe her when the kittens are a little more grown after a month. Lastly, don't wash a poor cat/kitten.
Try not to wash a cat that's under stress. Some people bathe a cat as soon as they bring it to their house. Give your cat time to adjust to its new home, and then you can clean it!
In the summer, you can wash your cat 3 times a month. Whereas in the winter, washing your cat only 1/2 a month is recommended.
A cat can get ill if you bathe it way too much. Make sure you follow the proper method of cleaning a cat/kitten. Don't put water anywhere near its eyes or ears. If the water goes inside your kitty's ears, it can be harmful! However, you can gently clean its face but make sure no water goes into its eyes. That can also be very harmful.
