Why Do Cats Eat Grass? | Why Is My Cat/Kitten Eating Grass? |

Today's blog post is about why cats eat grass when we take them outside.

First of all, eating grass is entirely safe for your cats. There is no harm in your cat eating grass. It is actually perfect. Your cat doesn't eat grass when it is ill, but it doesn't get sick. Grass kills all the parasites in your cat's stomach. You can now obviously get deworming done. Indoor cats don't have many parasites compared to outdoor/stray cats.

You shouldn't give your cat all types of grass. Some grass has fertilisers; when your cat eats that grass, its liver/kidneys can fail.

Some cats vomit after having grass, so avoid giving it way too much of it. If your cat has grass every day, then that isn't normal. If it's vomiting blood, you should visit your vet. Blood in vomit or stool is never a good sign.

You can get cat grass, which is safe for cats (and humans!) to consume. It's a mix of wheat, oat and barley grasses.

3) A dull coat

4) A swollen belly (in kittens)
