The First Few Days | Helping The Kitten Settle In | Day 2 |

Simba was a little upset for the first few days, but as the days went by, he started playing a lot more (not as much as usual kittens do). We decided to add a little milk (1%) to its water to get it to drink more. After we did, Simba got ill and had diarrhoea. Don't give cow milk to kittens, even if it is only a tiny amount, because they will get sick and therefore be upset + won't play. Also, you don't always have to believe everything google says. Sometimes it will go to extreme levels, making you even more anxious and upset. The kitten will feel a lot better; just give it some time if it is ill.

Of course, if your kitten doesn't seem to get better in a day or so, you should see a vet. Don't worry, though; it should probably get better.

Anyways, kittens need some time to get used to a new home. Don't expect the kitten to be highly playful as soon as it arrives at its new residence. Try to make the kitten as comfortable as possible by not changing its food for the first few days. Let it come to you when it wants to; don't forcefully make it sit with you/on you. Furthermore, make sure it has enough space. It may get overwhelming, so introduce parts of your house at first. If you do let it roam around wherever it wants to have two litter trays may help it and will prevent any accidents from occurring. For example, having one litter tray upstairs and the other downstairs if you have a two-storey house.
